Brooklyn To Athens And Back Again

Three great things happened whilst in Athens, GA over the holidays.

#1) @bodine and I got a tour of the brand spankin' new Terrapin Beer Brewery by the amazing Brad Fowler of Trappeze fame. We learned how the brews get brewed and even got to sample the goods. I highly recommend the Hopsecutioner. Man oh man, I wish these fine purveyors of beer had been around during my halcyon Athens days of yore!

#2) While browsing the aisles of one of our favorite little downtown shops, Agora, I found a newly refurbished Califone vintage record player. It is the craziest color blue. It looks and sounds amazing. It also looks and sounds like Harmonium is going to be releasing some vinyl in 2010 to play on said blue record player. Stay tuned for details!

#3) Finally, we had a chance to catch up with our good pal (and Harmonium recording artist), Tommy Wedge, as well as his charming bandmate, Gregg Laclaire, over a friendly game of Pass The Pigs at The Manhattan. (If you have not played this bizarre little game before then I highly recommend you check it out. Believe it or not, rolling 'dice pigs' is kind of amazing. Thank you Greg!) Word on the street from our man T. Wedge is that there is now a proper Wedge Facebook Fan Page as well as a new record in the works. I have heard some early mixes and these songs are going to blow the roof off the mutha'.

The trip South was a great cap to last year. Now back in NYC and ready to get cracking on a new annum. Mission for us all—get happy and do great works. Terribly excited for HFAM recordings in 2010. Let's Go!
